Plot
The story of Toy Story 4 takes place after the events of Toy Story 3. Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys are now living with Bonnie, their new owner. Bonnie is nervous about her first day of kindergarten and Woody tries to help her by sneaking into her backpack. At kindergarten, Bonnie creates a new toy named Forky out of a spork, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes. Forky comes to life and is convinced that he is trash and not a toy. Woody takes it upon himself to make Forky understand what it means to be a toy and to be there for Bonnie no matter what.
During a family road trip, Woody and Forky get separated from the rest of the toys and end up in an antique store. There they meet Gabby Gabby, an old doll who has never been played with and wants Woody's voice box to replace her broken one. Woody tries to escape with Forky, but Gabby Gabby's ventriloquist dummies capture Forky. Woody strikes a deal with Gabby Gabby to give her his voice box in exchange for Forky's release.
In the end, Woody and the other toys rescue Forky and return to Bonnie. Woody decides to stay behind with Bo Peep, who was separated from him years ago, to help other toys find their owners and to be there for them when they need him.
